To the Editor:

I appreciated the Dec. 13 editorial about the importance of protecting McHenry County’s groundwater supply.

The editorial was correct when stating that water is our most valuable resource and that it is essential to virtually everything we do to live healthy lives.

I applaud County Board Chairman Ken Koehler for leading the charge to create the McHenry County Groundwater Task Force and to make McHenry County a leader in Illinois for the protection of our water supply. Too often, people don’t address important conservation issues until a crisis situation is imminent.

I’m glad the County Board had the foresight to address the groundwater supply issue now.

I ask you to join me in re-electing Ken Koehler to the County Board on Feb. 2.
